The following liability and release forms must be signed and completed upon arrival to Owl Pines. If you do not wish to sign these forms, you will be unable to participate in any activity or event on the Owl Pines property.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • You should wear whatever makes you comfortable and fits with the season. There is no special clothing required. Keep in mind that during guided forest walks we will be slowly traversing the trails, so you may need outerwear that will keep you warmer than a typical hike. For the summer, although it will be warmer, the forest will be cooler than anywhere in the direct sun. You may wish to wear layers that you can easily adjust with the temperature.

  • There is nothing required for you to bring except yourself. However, it is recommended that you bring water or a warm beverage. Additionally, you may wish to bring sunscreen and insect repellent during the summer months.

    You may also choose to bring your cellular phone to take photographs or leave it behind for a device detox. A small snack to nourish you on your journey is another item you may consider bringing.

  • After registering, Owl Pines will send you a confirmation email that will specify the exact location of our property. If you are unable to find clear directions, please contact us, so that we can assist you.

    Upon arrival, we will meet at the home on the property before departing for our journey into the forest.

  • Please plan to arrive 10-15 minutes earlier than your scheduled time. This will give you ample time to finish any paperwork and use the restroom facilities before our walk begins. If you are running late, please call (586) 747-2212.

GENERAL POLICIES AND OTHER FAQS

  • To register, you will find the event that you are interested in and use the calendar above to complete the booking and payment process. To ensure a more private experience, Owl Pines limits the number of attendees. Therefore, it is required to pre-register for all events. No drop-in participants will be accepted. Thank you for understanding.

    After registering, you will receive an email confirmation. This should have all necessary information for you. However, if you have any additional questions, please reach out and we are happy to answer.

  • Owl Pines understands that sometimes things come up. If you are needing to cancel a reservation, you will receive a full refund up to 48 hours prior to the event. If you are canceling within 24 hours, you will receive a 50% refund or a one-time rebooking credit for a similar future event. If you do not show up for your reservation, your payment will be non-refundable. Thank you for understanding.

    Retreats and Private Parties will have a separate cancellation policy that will be listed in our agreement.

    If Owl Pines cancels your reservation for any reason, you will receive a full refund.

  • Owl Pines will not cancel any Guided Forest Walks due to rain. We welcome the opportunity for rain to provide a heightened sensory experience for our participants. If rain is in the forecast, please adjust your clothing accordingly and keep an open mind about how this added natural element can create a favorable outcome for your walk.

    However, Owl Pines values your safety, and in the event of inclement weather or unsafe conditions on our property, we will cancel and reschedule your event. If you are unable to make the rescheduled date, you will be offered a full refund.

  • Owl Pines welcomes children to experience the therapeutic benefits of the forest. However, some of our current Guided Forest Walk offerings are designed to be a relaxing and restorative venture for participants over the age of 18.

    Please check the calendar to find age-appropriate walks for kids. If you don’t see one, feel free to contact me to set one up!
